Oh No!

I've been walking past this plant for over two years now and haven't really taken much notice of it until now. As part of our summer project Gina said we should look, observe, draw and paint.

Well I have been looking and observing. I started to notice the subtle change in colours - the veining on the leaves the fact that it takes four petals to make a flower. Then I started thinking that maybe I actually could draw it and then as quick as a flash another project popped into my head. 'No I don't need another project ' was my cry! It's all Gina's fault if she hadn't said look and observe I would probably still not be taking much notice of the hydrangea but it's too late it's there stuck in my head and won't go away.

Anyway I thought about it some more and realised I could make it fit in with my circles theme. So you will be seeing more of this.

More Circles

I have done some more work in my sketchbook. Nothing that was too taxing, I'm worse at keeping a sketchbook than I am at cooking and that's saying something!

A lot of these pictures were taken in Germany, working on circles was obviously in my sub-conscious.

Some magazine pictures and butttons from my treasured hoard. I like the idea of making some jewellery at the moment I have no idea where this is going.

The number 18 was marking a point of interest at The Centre For Alternative Technology at Machynlleth. It's surprising how big a part circles take in our  lives and we don't realise until you start looking for them.

I have started some stitching. Just a small piece that's experimental and might or might not lead to something.

I've made a nice sponge cake for tomorrow's afternoon tea, hope the ladies like it.
