Mono Printing

At the last Spectrum meeting we did some more mono printing - onto fabric this time. It was a lovely day and we all had a great time.

Gina asked us to use one of our pieces of printed fabric and make a 4x4" square. We were allowed to use stitch and colour and then lace it onto some mount board. I decided to use my circle fabric and add some crosses as in the game which featured on my journey drawing.

I enjoyed it so much that I'm working on another piece.

Talking of the journey drawing, I have done some printing with the stamps that I made and I'm quite pleased with the results.

This first one is a little bit too regimented for me.

I really like the movement that the curves suggest in this one.

I liked it so much that I did a larger print just to make sure. I'm definitely going to work with this design for my finished piece.

The printing looks v. successful. I particularly like Fiona Rainfords work and often admire it on Flickr (re the Prism exhibition). Come back on Monday for my give-away linked to the book - I think you will like the book, its crammed with information.
