This Week

I have made another two Cover Ups.

A lovely bag with gorgeous fabric and a fabulous button.

We have chocolate brownies for afternoon tea. I've used a different recipe because I wasn't happy with the last one. I think these are going to be very yummy and chewy like they should be. The other ones seemed too dry to me.

My X-rays came back clear so I've had to have some blood tests but I'm feeling much better. The blood test was a bit of a disaster because the needle broke away from the syringe and there was blood everywhere. The poor nurse was very apologetic and flustered and when I said accidents happen that seemed to make her more flustered but not to worry, the job got done.

At Last

I must have a happy computer today, if that's at all possible because it has let me load pictures from last Saturday's class. The class was taught by Gina, the ladies had a great day and produced some fabulous work.

I can't remember who did what but you can enjoy looking at their work.

I'm feeling much better this week I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday for the results of the x-ray but I've been able to focus on things much better and have done some sewing. Firstly I finished hand sewing the binding on the baby quilt, and made a matching height chart then I made a cover up.

Now you see it.

Now you don't.

I'm really pleased with how this cover up finished I had my doubts as I was making it but now I'm going to make some more.

Enjoy your weekend.

The Best

I think the best advert on telly at the moment is the EDF Energy one with this cute little character as the star. He makes me smile every time I see the advert so when I picked the junk mail up of the floor yesterday morning I was happy just for once because this leaflet was there. It's now stuck on the wall in my sewing room.

I finished the baby quilt, now all I've got to do is the matching height chart. I didn't get very far with it today, it's been one of those days when everything I touched went wrong-better luck tomorrow.

We had chocolate brownies for afternoon tea, luckily I made them yesterday evening so nothing went wrong with them and they tasted ok.

I did try to upload pictures from Saturdays class but blogger hasn't been co-operating so I will try tomorrow because they are worth seeing.

Keeping Busy

Although I haven't been in the right frame of mind to do much crafting-wise I have been trying to keep myself busy and in some sort of routine. I managed to make this bag which I thought would be nice and simple and not involve too much thinking but it hadn't occured to me that the pattern might be wrong. Not to worry after some cursing and a few days I figured it out and it is very sweet.

Something I've been desperate to do is to make a baby quilt for Sam and Amy's baby that's due in a couple of weeks. But my heart wasn't in it because of how I've been feeling but I really needed to get it done and really really wanted to make it for them. So there was nothing left for it but to knuckle under and get on with it and I'm so glad I did. I've just got to finish the binding and take out all the basting stitches. I'm very pleased with it, it's so pretty.

Another way of keeping busy is to bake and I've made two dozen of these ready for tomorrow's class. Not the best picture, they look a lot better than this and I will confess taste lovely, so they are actually one short of two dozen but who's counting?

I've had lots of emails from people wishing me better, thank you to you all for your kind comments. I have been back to the doctors again this week, he still has no idea what is wrong but I've still got a temperature so he has given me some more antibiotics in case it's an infection and I've had a chest
x-ray. I have to go back again in two weeks, hopefully by then I will be better.

At least the weather has improved and the forecast for the weekend is favourable so I hope you all have a good one.
